Evangelische Stadtkirche

The neo-gothic protestant city church was built between 1872 and 1874 according to plans by building inspector Herzog from Rottweil for the protestant community, which was growing rapidly during industrialization.

In 1823, 30 protestant residents of the town of Schramberg petitioned the King of Württemberg to be assigned to a neighboring parish. In 1851 the first protestant service could be held in a rented garden hall. In 1866, the first acting pastor, Mann, from Böblingen, who had previously served as deacon, was appointed.

Between 1896 and 1898, an extension building with a larger bell tower was constructed according to plans by Chief Building Officer Dolmetsch from Stuttgart for the continuously growing Protestant community in the industrial city of Schramberg.
